Balliol’s new development at the Master’s Field has won a certificate in the New Buildings category of the Oxford Preservation Trust Awards 2022. The College was also shortlisted for the RIBA Client of the Year award for the development.
The Oxford Preservation Trust awards ‘seek to recognise the contribution that projects, large and small, can make to Oxford’s character and communities’. The winning projects, which ‘exemplify the fantastic range and skill of those working in the construction and heritage industries in Oxford’, are listed here. Balliol was also shortlisted as a Small Project for the recently added access ramp in the Front Quad.
The RIBA Client of the Year award recognises ‘exemplar clients who champion and commission outstanding architecture’.
Completed in 2021, the project has already won a 2022 RIBA National Award and two regional awards, a RIBA South Award 2022 and the RIBA South Project Architect of the Year 2022.
The Master’s Field Development was designed by Niall McLaughlin Architects, whom we warmly congratulate on winning the RIBA Stirling Prize 2022 for the New Library at Magdalene College, Cambridge.
