College Magazine

Floreat Domus is the College magazine, which contains news and features from the Balliol community. This year’s edition, below, includes news about Balliol’s forthcoming events celebrating 40 years of women students at Balliol; Fellows describing their research - one on an ‘optoelectronic nose’, another on Toussaint L’Ouverture, ‘the Black Spartacus’; students writing about peer support; a look behind the scenes at a Gaudy; an interview with the UN’s longest-serving mediator, Balliol alumnus Matt Nimetz; a special feature by Balliol alumni who are working in education, and other articles by and about alumni - and more.

The magazine takes its title from Balliol’s motto, Floreat Domus de Balliolo, which means ‘May the house of Balliol flourish’.
