College Magazine

Floreat Domus is the College magazine, which contains news and features from the Balliol community. This year’s edition, below, includes a message from the new Master and a tribute to the retiring Master; a feature about some of the entrepreneurs among the Balliol alumni community; stories about students’ activities, such as a project on the Northern Plains tribes, an orchestra tour and the new Balliol climbers group; College news, including a visit from Met Commissioner and Balliol alumna Cressida Dick; articles by Old Members, including an account of a journey round Britain to explore responses to refugees and asylum seekers; an engineering Fellow describing her research on dynamics, vibration and uncertainty; the story of how Balliol won University Challenge - and much more.

The magazine takes its title from Balliol’s motto, Floreat Domus de Balliolo, which means ‘May the house of Balliol flourish’.
