Graduate courses at Oxford, including those offered at Balliol, are numerous and diverse. They range from one to three or more years in length and fall into two broad categories: research and taught. For more information, please see this introduction to Oxford’s graduate courses.
For graduate studies, applicants to Oxford must first be accepted on to a programme of study by the relevant subject faculty or department. Successful applications are then passed on to colleges for assessment for a college place. Not all courses are offered by any one college.
Balliol offers a significant number and range of courses across the Humanities, Social Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences, reflecting the many academic interests within our community. To find out whether your chosen course is supported by Balliol, please see the ‘Colleges’ tab of the relevant course page.
We welcome applications for any of the postgraduate courses we offer.
