For the competition, the University College London Department of Statistical Science invited submissions in statistics and probability from PhD students at any university. Jeffrey explains: ‘PhD students bring together their research in the format of posters and showcase their findings to the judge, academics and other students. Professor Guy Nason, Head of Statistics and Chair at Imperial College, judged about 30 entries, from which I won fourth prize with my poster “Moments of Random Partitions by Residual Allocation”.’

Jeffrey (Balliol 2021) is reading for a DPhil Modern Statistics and Statistical Machine Learning (CDT).
