Research interests: I study the aerial behaviour of insects, with a focus on how morphology links to visual guidance strategies. I use insect aerial dogfights between equally capable fliers, to push them to the edge of their performance limit. Using high-speed video, I reconstruct both the visual input and the flight manoeuvres of each insect, allowing me to uncover the strategies that guide their rapid airborne decision making.
