College requirements

We normally require A-Level candidates to obtain A grades in Mathematics, Physics, and in at least one further subject. Candidates taking other examinations are required to obtain correspondingly high grades in subjects including Mathematics and Physics.

Engineering Science at Balliol

Engineering has been taught at Balliol for about 50 years. These days Balliol is one of the largest Oxford colleges in terms of the number of students studying Engineering subjects: approximately 36 undergraduate students at any one time. There are three tutors who are Tutorial Fellows of the college (see below).

Professor Paul Buckley teaches materials, structures, and maths, and has research interests in materials engineering.
