Meals

There are two ways to pre-pay for meals in Balliol Hall. Both have the advantage of convenience over paying by cash at the till and the first method is considerably cheaper (although all meals are subsidised by College). Full information about paying for meals is available in the Letter from the Domestic Bursar.

The two pre-payment methods are: 1. a termly meal-deal for dinners; and 2. the option of putting money on your University Card for lunches and dinners.

1. To take advantage of the College's meal-deal for dinners in Hall, please visit our payments site by Monday 1st Week. The Michaelmas term meal-deal runs from Monday 1st Week to Sunday 9th Week. Pre-payment dinners consist of a main meal, with either a side salad or vegetables and potatoes/rice/noodles; and a (hot or cold) pudding or a piece of fruit. The options are: 7 dinners per week in Hall for £142.67 for the term or 5 dinners per week Monday to Friday for £101.63.

2. To deposit money on your University Card, you should also visit our payments site, indicating the amount you wish to Top Up with.

You can combine the Pre-Payment Dinner Meal-Deal with the University Card deposit by visiting the payments website and selecting both options.

Note that this does not include the separate Catering Subsidy Charge of £30 per term (or £19.40 if living out of College) which is levied on all students. You also accept that claiming your meal allowances requires you to produce your University Card to the till operator in Hall.

Please visit https://payments.balliol.ox.ac.uk and use the Meal Prepayments button to purchase a termly meal-deal for dinners, and/or use the Top-Up Card button to deposit funds on your University Card.
