A portrait by Emily Carrington Freeman (Balliol 2013) is on display in an exhibition at the Weston Library. The Full Picture: Oxford in Portraits, which opens on 24 November 2017, features more than 20 paintings, drawings and photographs of Oxford academics and former students which were commissioned earlier this year as part of the University’s Diversifying Portraiture project, intended to promote Oxford’s increasing diversity and its commitment to inclusivity. The portraits feature men and women with disabilities; people from a variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds; and people from LGBTQ+ communities. The sitters were selected from over a hundred nominations of living Oxonians. The new portraits will be displayed in the University’s Examination Schools. You can read more about the project here.
Emily is based in Oxford and may be contacted via her website. Her portrait is of Dr Norma Aubertin-Potter, retired Librarian of All Souls College.
