Professor Paul Newman (Balliol 1991)’s Oxford University spin-out company Oxbotica has won a Boldness in Business Award. Run in collaboration with the Financial Times, the awards celebrate the most inspiring stories of innovation in company across the globe; Oxbotica won in the smaller company category.
Professor Newman co-founded the company with Professor Ingmar Posner. Its main product is selenium. This software can be applied to all things that move and has played a significant part in the development of autonomous vehicles: in particular, it was integral to the successful trialling of a driverless car in October 2016.
