Jowett Copyright Trust

Tuesday 8 November

Bust of Euripides imageApplications are invited to the Jowett Copyright Trustees for grants for projects or publications which are in line with the terms of the Trust. In the first place the fund is devoted to the republication or correction of Jowett’s works; secondly to the making of new translations or editions of Greek authors; and thirdly to the promotion or advancement of the study of Greek literature.  This may in certain circumstances be extended to other projects promoting the study of Greek language and culture, and also to Latin projects.

Most of our grants are in the range £100–£1000, though occasionally larger grants are made. The Trustees meet three times yearly, in November, February, and May. Applications should be sent to Professor Rosalind Thomas, Balliol College, Oxford.

The Chairman of the trust is Professor Christopher Pelling, Christ Church.
