Visas and immigration

If you are coming from outside the UK, ensure that your visa and passport are in order now.

The University has helpful webpages about visas and immigration and how to apply for a Tier 4 Visa. Please also check the University’s coronavirus site under ‘Travel and Visas’ regularly for the latest information.

Banking

Guidance on opening a bank account can be found can be found on the University’s international students webpage (right-hand menu — related documents). Banks have agreed to accept a PDF copy of the enrolment certificate that is not stamped or signed and a photo of the University card as an image file to make the process easier, and banks should be able to open most accounts online or through a combination of online and telephone/webchat. If you intend to bring money into the UK, you need to read about the relevant government regulations

Language training

Oxford University Language Centre offers language courses for study and research as well as an English for Academic Studies programme for international students whose first language is not English.
