Dr Geraldine Parsons
Dr Geraldine Parsons is a lecturer in Celtic and Gaelic at the University of Glasgow. Her interest is centred on medieval Irish/Gaelic literature, particularly on the fíanaigecht, or Finn Cycle, corpus. While at Balliol, she is working on a monograph on the late Middle Irish work, Acallam na Senórach (‘The Colloquy of the Ancients’). Composed c.1200, this is one of the longest and most celebrated works to survive from the Middle Ages from the Gaelic work. Notwithstanding its significance, it has not yet been the subject of a book-length study. Further details on Geraldine are available here.
