Balliol College proposes, if a suitable candidate applies, to appoint a stipendiary eight-hour Lecturer in History for the academic year 2026–2027. The post is for one academic year (to cover the teaching duties of Professor John-Paul Ghobrial, while he is on research leave).
The successful candidate will be expected to teach eight hours per week on average during term time. She or he will receive a stipend of £22,540 p.a. (at current rates) for the duration. In addition, s/he will have meal entitlements, an Academic Support Allowance, and will have shared access to a teaching room in College.
