Death and Mortality in the Humanities and Social Sciences: One-Day Postgraduate and Early Careers Conference

Postgraduate students and early-career academics working on death and mortality are currently scattered across Oxford’s Humanities and Social Sciences departments with no established working group, academic society or seminar series allowing them to network, exchange ideas or find specialist support.

This small one-day conference aims to bring these researchers together, offering a meaningful day’s workshop with substantive exchange in an informal, supportive atmosphere. The event is intended to form the basis for a death and mortality working group at Oxford which could collaborate with similar groups at, for example, the University of York and elsewhere.
