Aoife Ní Chroidheáin is a DPhil candidate in German studies at the University of Oxford. Her forthcoming dissertation explores the ‘samizdat’ (Russian: self-publication) scene of East Berlin of the 1980s. Aoife teaches German language, translation and twentieth century German literature at Balliol College.
