The Master and Fellows of Balliol College, Oxford, have elected the Right Honourable the Lord Rodger of Earlsferry PC FBA FRSE to serve as Visitor from 10 November 2010.

November 2010 marked the 50th year since Professor Denis Noble, Emeritus Fellow of Balliol, published a paper in the scientific journal Nature which laid the basis for the computer modelling of human organs.
