English Tutorial Fellow Professor Adam Smyth has — with Dr Dennis Duncan of UCL — edited a collection of essays that pulls the book apart.
Engineering undergraduate Andreea-Maria Oncescu (Lubbock Scholar) won the runner-up prize in a project poster competition held during the 45th Maurice Lubbock Memorial Lecture on 22 May 2019.
On 14 May 2019 Balliol alumni David Gilmour (1971) and Simon Mayall (1975) came to talk to the Balliol History Society about their memories of studying History with Richard Cobb (Fellow 1962–1972, Honorary Fellow 1977–1996) and Maurice Keen (Fellow and Tutor in Modern History 1961–2000, Emeritus Fellow 2000–2012), in the 1960s-1970s.
On Tuesday 14 May 2019 the Master welcomed Old Members and friends to the beautiful Leathersellers’ Hall in London for the inaugural 1263 Circle drinks reception.
