Historic Collections Centre Handover
Monday 31 January (All day)Felthams Construction Ltd have completed works to restore St Cross Church Holywell and convert it for use as Balliol’s Historic Collections Centre, under the supervision of Robert Montgomery of Montgomery Architects. It won't be ready for readers until Michaelmas term 2011, but John Jones, Emeritus Fellow, who has overseen the project for the College, comments: 'The painted ceilings, stained glass, fabric, and installations look absolutely terrific. The site was handed back to the College today and the Special Collections will be moved in gradually starting next month.'
