Cadle Fund

The Cadle Fund assists Balliol students who participate in sport at University/Blues level and who may have difficulty with essential expenditure. Please note that funding is not available for kit. Funding for medical expenses and/or physio related to sport should be requested through the Financial Aid Officer rather than through the Cadle Fund.

Type of award:
Non-academic
Eligibility or selection criteria:

Any Balliol student who is participating in sport at University/Blues level, except for rowing. Open weight rowers and coxes with OUBC and OUWBC are funded almost entirely by their clubs. Separate funding is available for Balliol students who are rowers or coxes with OULRC or OUWLRC.

Amount awarded:

Awards are usually between £20 and £50 per term, depending on availability of funds.

How and when to apply:

Details of how to apply are advertised by email to all students usually in 3rd or 4th week of each term, with a closing date in 6th week. Awards are not usually announced until after 8th week.

Further information:

Urgent requests for financial assistance with individual expenses, especially in the instance of representing the University, may be considered at other times and should be sent to the Student Finance Officer.

If you have any queries about the Cadle Fund, please contact the Dean.
