Andrew Mason Memorial Fund

A grant from the Andrew Mason Memorial Fund may be made each year to a Balliol undergraduate of any nationality, for a summer vacation research project/internship in the sciences (including Engineering, Mathematics and Economics). The award is to enable a student to undertake an academic project/internship of special interest which may be related to, but does not form a direct part of, an Oxford degree programme. The project may last up to eight weeks. Students intending to pursue postgraduate work in a discipline other than that embraced by their undergraduate degree are especially warmly encouraged to apply.

Eligibility or selection criteria: 

Any Balliol undergraduate student.

Amount awarded: 

Up to a maximum of £2,000, depending on the nature of the project. Where funding permits, it might be possible to award two scholarships.

How and when to apply: 

Application forms are emailed to all undergraduates in at the start of Hilary Term and should be returned to the Student Finance Officer by 3rd week. Personal tutors are invited by the Student Finance Officer to comment on the proposals.
