Professor Paul Buckley, Tutorial Fellow in Engineering (Lubbock Fellow)

Paul Buckley

  • Core subject area: Mechanical and Materials Engineering
  • Teaching: Materials, structures, mathematics, and specialist teaching on the mechanics and production engineering aspects of polymers and composite materials in engineering.
  • Research interests: Measurements and mathematical modelling of the mechanical performance of polymeric materials (synthetic polymers and more recently also biological soft tissues), and polymer-matrix composites. The objective is to generate quantitative understanding of the mechanical behaviour of these material systems, with the aim of developing predictive capabilities for situations of engineering importance.
