Balliol's accommodation is located on three sites, all within easy walking distance of each other: the main college site on Broad Street, our graduate centre based around Holywell Manor, and our newest buildings bordering our sports field in Jowett Walk.
Graduates who are new to Balliol and need accommodation are normally housed in the graduate centre for their first year of study. Undergraduates are guaranteed two years 'living in' (normally in the first and final years of their course) and financial assistance is available for those 'living out' in privately rented accommodation. Both graduates and undergraduates ballot their members in order to distribute college rooms among those with no automatic entitlement to housing.
Each Fresher undergraduate is allocated a single study-bedroom (with shared bathroom facilities) on the main site for the first year. In later years there is more choice - including sets of rooms with en-suite facilities in our newest buildings.
The College owns several rooms that are specially adapted for disabled students, with disabled showers. There is one on the main site, one in the Graduate Centre at Holywell Manor, and three in our newest buildings at Jowett Walk.
Balliol College has signed up for the University Accommodation Code of Practice (ACOP). For further details please see their website.
